Currently Not Collectible
A Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status happens when the IRS ceases and desists all collection efforts of your account. Of course there are tax laws governing who can and who cannot benefit from the Currently Not Collectible status. The good news is the IRS does not pursue collection activity against you on a CNC, plus the statute of limitations on the tax liabilities will continue to run. Unless your financial situation changes, the account will remain on a CNC status until the tax liabilities end.

Wage Garnishment Release
The role of the IRS is to collect taxes on behalf of the U.S. government. If you do not pay your taxes, the IRS will demand payment by phone, by field visits and by letters. If you ignore the demands for payment the IRS will give legal notice that it is taking other steps to collect the taxes. One method that the IRS uses to collect the overdue taxes is through wage garnishments. At IRS-SOLV we constantly have IRS negotiations to release wage garnishments for our clients.

Bank Levy Release
If you do not pay your taxes, the IRS will demand payment by many means, including telephone, letter, and visits. If the taxpayer ignores the demands for payment, the IRS will give legal notice that it is taking other steps to collect the taxes. One method used by the IRS to collect back taxes is the bank levy. Convincing the IRS to release a bank levy can be quite difficult. At IRS-SOLV we have conducted countless bank levy release negotiations over our 30 years.
